Cook yourself smart: Infographics for kitchen professionals

Because nothing illustrates complex relationships better than an informative graphic, culinary literature cannot do without them. Whether popular cookbook, household management guide, or nutritional science text, explanatory illustrations are what make the genre easily digestible – and sometimes even very enjoyable.

This volume showcases the best and most original infographics on food, drink, and cooking, and, like an illustrated Schott's compendium, humorously answers pretty much every question you might ever have about food and drink, and many you'd never have thought of. If it's not in here, it's not for consumption.

A few examples: Have you always wanted to know how Maori cook and how to prepare fugu without dying? How many types of cheese there are and where they come from? What you can do with watermelons? Which end of a fish is the right one? What you can make cooking oil from? How to become a barbecue champion? What your sandwich is thinking? How a microwave works and what goes on in your refrigerator? When is a martini truly bone dry?

From ancient Egyptian flatbread to molecular gastronomy, from homemade pizza to Michelin-starred cuisine, Food & Drink Infographics covers it all with ironic lightness and leaves no question unanswered on its colorful and witty visual journey through the world of food and gastronomy. There are infographics on all food groups, recipes galore , and plenty of practical tips for adventurous foodies, hobby cooks, and gourmets. Bon appétit!
