Pierre Winther is a gifted creative, storyteller, and visionary. Born in Copenhagen, he now lives in Berlin and has been testing the boundaries of photography and filmmaking since 1985. With his complex visual language, which is heavily inspired by film, he manages to capture entire stories in a single moment. Nothing Beats Reality features selected works by Winther, including revolutionary editorials and advertising campaigns, as well as iconic images such as his masterpiece, a picture of a man riding a 5-meter-long tiger shark. This daring photo was taken in 1992 during a shoot on the Great Barrier Reef and was produced without digital manipulation. Shark Riding adorns the cover of this photo book and also inspired the title Nothing Beats Reality .
